I survived the hard parts. I alchemized them.
Now I'm here to help you do the same.

Surviving it was the first step. Alchemizing it is the superpower.
I'm Jinjara Mitchell — an actress, writer, director, and content creator based between Los Angeles and Vancouver. My work has one throughline: the radical belief that the hardest chapters of your life contain the most powerful material.
My short film The Ornament — which I wrote, directed, and lived — screened at the Oscar-qualifying Edmonton International Film Festival, The Female Eye Film Festival, and received a Leo Award nomination for Best Short Film. It's the film that started everything.
From that story grew a community, a podcast, a mission. I'm a C-PTSD survivor, a cycle-breaker, and I've spent the last decade turning the worst parts of my life into something that helps other people find their voice.

Some stories hit different. In 2026, Jinjara began sharing her family origin story online — and millions of people stopped scrolling.
Her series Story Time Series spread across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, sparking a wave of recognition from people who saw their own lives reflected back at them for the first time. Comments flooded in from survivors, cycle-breakers, and people who had never had language for what they'd been through — until now.
What went viral wasn't just a story. It was permission. Permission to name what happened, to stop protecting people who never protected you, and to start alchemizing the hardest parts of your life into something powerful.
The community that grew from that moment is still growing.
"What went viral wasn't just a story. It was permission."
C-PTSD doesn't look the way movies say it does. It looks like people-pleasing, hypervigilance, emotional flashbacks, and a nervous system that never learned it was safe to rest. It looks like high-functioning and falling apart at the same time.
Jinjara has lived it — and spent years doing the work to understand it. Through her content, her podcast, and her community, she creates space for honest conversations about complex trauma, estrangement, nervous system healing, and what recovery actually looks like when it isn't linear.
This isn't trauma tourism. It's education rooted in lived experience, told by someone still in it — and proof that healing out loud can be the most powerful thing you do.
